I've heard the New Order version more than this one, but since N.O. was an offshoot of Joy Division they both work for me.

9. Now is every moment of a life.
Edited on Thu Sep-23-10 11:33 PM by RandomThoughts
To do anything now, you do it in your entire being by every action and thought every minute hour and day.

'Now' is how you live every day in your life.

"It takes everything you got..." Maybe its wrong, maybe right, but it is something.

This goes out to the youngsters who've yet to have been born during the Cold War.

35. The Church - Destination
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nidAGwtYGuA

Our instruments have no way of measuring this feeling
Can never cut below the floor, or penetrate the ceiling.
In the space between our houses, some bones have been discovered,
But our procession lurches on, as if we had recovered.

Draconian winter unforetold.
One solar day, suddenly youre old.
Your little envelope just makes me cold,
Makes destination start to unfold.

Our documents are useless, or forged beyond believing.
Page forty-seven is unsigned, I need it by this evening.
In the space between our cities, a storm is slowly forming.
Something eating up our days, I feel it every morning.
Destination, destination.

Its not a religion, its just a technique.
Its just a way of making you speak.
Distance and speed have left us too weak,
And destination looks kind of bleak.

Our elements are burned out, our beasts have been mistreated.
I tell you its the only way well get this road completed.
In the space between our bodies, the air has grown small fingers.
Just one caress, youre powerless, like all those clapped-out swingers.

N.W.A.
N.W.A. and the Posse (1987)
Boyz-N-The Hood

Woke up quick at about noon
Just thought that I had to be in Compton soon
I gotta get drunk before the day begin
Before my mother starts bitchin' 'bout my friends
About to go and damn it went blind
Young niggaz at the pad throwin' up gang signs
Ran in the house and grabbed my clip
With the Mc10 in the side of my hip
Bailed outside and pointed my weapon
Just as I thought, the fools kept steppin'
Jumped in the fo' (6-fo) hit the juice on my ride
I got front back and side to side
Then I let the LP play
Poppin' new shit by NWA
It was "Gangsta Gangsta" at the top of the list
Then I played my own shit, it went somethin' like this :

Cruisin' down the street(s) in my 6-fo'
Jackin' the bitches, slappin' the ho's
Went to the park to get the scoop
Knuckle-heads out there cold shootin' some hoo's
A car pulls up, who can it be?
A fresh elkomino rolly Kilo G
He rolls down his window and he started to say
It's all about makin' that GTA

Cuz the boyz in de hood are alwayz hard
You come talkin' that trash we'll bull your car
Knowin' nothin' in life but to be legit'
Don't quote me boy, cuz I ain't sayin' shit ...

On edit, of course you can't listen to this without following up with-
