Anyone going to try Diaspora?

I'm not a FacePalm/FB user, so I liked the idea of an open-source "facebook" site like this one:

If youre a programmer, you might consider looking into it now as they've recently released their code to developers. The site won't be open to us non-developers until October (15th, I think.)

We'll see how good it is, but I'm looking forward to it anyway :)

but I fear that face-a-book won this round forever. And Farmville just ruined me. They charge $9.99 for only mowing the lawn if you click on 'Mowing the lawn for $9.99.' And I really liked watching the little guy mowing the lawn so much, I clicked on it about thirty times a day. Zuckerberg called me yesterday (after face-a-book was back up,) wanting my money.

3. Even if I was coherent right now

(and I'm not) I still wouldn't be able to grasp much of what you said there! I saw the word 'mowing' and $9.99, so I'd think that was a bargain for getting your lawn mowed.

I'd say this is for people fed up with FB one way or another, and those of us that never fell into that time-sucking trap ;)
