i had to drive to newton mass last week

i had to drive to newton mass last week
drove there and back from friday to sunday morning.

everything was fine all the way to the NY border. i routinely drive between 80-95 during interstate travel and have to often use the hammer lane.

why did these people with massachusetts plates know the first thing about driving friendly and yielding to faster traffic in the left lane?
