A tale of four kittehs
Last May one of the neighborhood ferals showed up at my door wanting in my house. She proceeded to give birth to 4 lovely ginger kittens that I raised with lots of TLC. When the time came to take them to a friend's farm I just couldn't. I HAD to find these little darlings inside homes so they could live a life a maximum spoilage. Well now two months later, after calling every no kill shelter on planet Earth and advertising and putting up fliers everywhere I STILL have four now teenaged kittehs being fat and sassy in my house. Here they are:

Charlie, Tweety and Opie my tie dye boys

Sandy, my dainty little girl.

Anyway they are getting neutered/spayed in the next couple of weeks and I am still actively looking for homes for them. The mama kitty, Saffie got out and showed up pregnant again a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately she was kind of sick and vomiting and ended up going into premature labor and losing the litter :( I have her inside, on the mend and have made an appointment to get her fixed too. We just have so many homeless cats around here and I can't stand to see the poor things suffer.

Anyway be sure to get your critters fixed if you have them. Kittens are super super cute and cuddly but it's SO hard to find homes right now. Shelters are full and adoptions are down right now. I'm still on the lookout for the perfect "forever homes" for my furry babies so please send out vibes for them. Thanks!

2. Beautiful
I am partial to orange kitties. I have one sleeping on my bed right now and a second cat somewhere in this apartment.
Have you tried posting this in the Pets section and your state forum?
Good luck to you and your four precious charges.

3. Thanks I'll try that
I'm in northern Illinois (not Chicago but it's not a far drive at all) in case anyone knows of a good kitty home in need of a cuddly tie-dye friend. Don't we all need one? :)

4. I'd take one if you were in norcal....
Of course, my GF would kill me afterward, but punishing me for being impetuous is part of her job description :-). We do kitty rescue, and have a full house-- that's why I'd get "the look" if I came home with another kitten, LOL. We currently have eight and that's about four too many for our house. Nonetheless, I LOVE ginger kitties. You are SO lucky to have four of them, plus mom! And all so beautiful, too!

Bless you for taking them in!

6. I wish you luck finding homes. I have been in that situation myself
and realize how many people are in the same boat. I am right now trying to tame a wild or scared kitten with three legs and have looked high and low for a home for her when she is tame. I have a feeling I will end up with another cat---with three legs. Sigh.

7. They look like my Pete the Barn Cat x4!
:scared: Love him to death, but I can't imagine dealing with 4 of him! :scared: (btw, "the Barn Cat" is part of his name; he does not live in a barn, he lives in the house & spends his days sleeping in the window when he's not busy eating).

Have you put up a flyer at the vet's office? I had to do that with the last litter the local feral mom dropped off at my house. Found homes for all of them too! :)

I'm partial to them because that's how I found our wonderful dog to adopt. You've raised some sweet and healthy looking cats! Good luck!

11. Take a photograph of the kitties, put it on a flyer and post the flyers at all
the vet clinics in your city. I did that when I had a one year old abandoned cat to find a home for and it worked.

13. you know you are going to keep them
Once they are fixed, its so easy to take care of them. I have three in the house now. All they do is eat and poop and play.

There are about 20 or so ferals in the area. I feed them and try to catch and fix them. Two in the house were street cats.
