I can't stand the cats & kittehs ...

in my apartment complex, down just 40 feet from where I live. Damn, they just keep reproducing, and a couple of years back, I got one of the kittehs & took it to my vet's office, & wouldn't leave until it had been adopted into a good home -- which was in about 15 minutes.

I don't like cats, particularly. But they look kinda skinny to me. So I've been buying catfood and taking a big bowlful down about every other day, when I walk my doggies. Well, it's dry food, so of course I have to take fresh water, too. And I didn't mean to start something, but now when I take the doggies down that way, the look at me and cry. They're hungry. I reported them to management, but it hasn't done any good.

I know they have fleas. The kitteh I sort of rescued & took to the vet was covered in "flea dirt." (I heard them say that.)

I'm not crazy about cats. I'm a "dog person." But these kittehs need food & water, and I guess I will keep on bringing them some food & water, but damn. They don't have anyone to hold them & talk to them & love them ...

Any advice for someone who doesn't like the kittehs?

1. Our local humane society knows of several very good and kind

people in our county who help with cat rescue and trap/spay-neuter/release. First, call the humane society and describe your situation. The current cats need to be spayed/neutered to minimize overpopulation.

Please don't just leave it to your management, because they very well might call the pound. Please make an effort to find groups in your community that will help, and call Alley Cat Allies - their number is 240-482-1980

7. That the cats reproduce is not the cats' fault. It's the fault of people who don't have their

companion animals spayed or neutered. And animals without care will get fleas, just as they will often starve.

By the way, I think you may like cats...just a little. You have a good heart. :hug:
