Dating..he has 2 kids..teenagers..I don't have any kids..

or before I start staying over?

and they're not stuck with you and there are some other people around for everybody to interact with? Some big group summer picnic would have been perfect, but other stuff would work: Sierra Club day hike, you and he volunteer for some school activities the kids are involved in ...
