I hate Sunday nights (especially when I have only had one day off). I wonder when I will have a job where I won't dread Mondays.
Too much stress at work (and the stress is mostly the people- one in particular- not the work so much, though that is kind of boring). I get criticized for not being a team player, because I don't want to kill myself for this stupid job. What's wrong with wanting to be efficient and doing things in smaller chucks, spreading it out, rather than pulling a 14 hour day?
My coworker was an asshole to me the other day because I dared to question why something had to be the way it was (I thought it was unfair). He spoke to me like he was 12 years old. I didn't rise to the bait. Yet he tattles on me and anyone else who is not cutting it, according to him. For example, we can't tell him to be quiet, even though he talks incessantly, because he would tattle on us for that. Or for using the horn on the truck at some idiot who failed to yield when they were supposed. Little stuff like that.
So I dread Mondays.

heh, that is funny. Tattling. If more people told on what was going on, then things would get alot better for everyone not doing those things.
Tattling. LOL
By the way, that was part of 'usual suspects' they got wrong, but then again they mislabeled the character also.
The only time 'tattling' is bad is if it is for things not important. Billions in theft, millions in poverty, I think a little tattling is well overdue.
Oh yea, I still don't have beer and travel money.

4. No, he tattles instead of dealing with the issue one-on-one. |
|
Usually it's something pretty trivial. I have no issue with real whistle-blowers and if someone I knew was committing fraud or sexual harassment, I certainly would bring it up to someone myself.
I am of the school that if you have a personal issue with someone, you deal with it with them first before running it up the chain.

2. So sorry you feel that way |

I have had jobs before where all of Sunday was ruined because of the Monday anxiety. It truly sucks and is no way to live. You have to find a new job or learn to deal with this one. Of course you could always shove your coworker down the elevator shaft just before lunch break.

3. We are on the second floor, so he would probably survive the drop |
|
Not that I am going to do that but it helps to be in a taller building, I guess. LOL
I'm trying to get out for a number of reasons and I have had a lot of interviews but no offers. In my more paranoid moments, I think I've been black-balled. In reality I know I am not the greatest at interviewing. I try to improve each time but still it is discouraging.

9. Monday gets me one day closer to that 4 day weekend of Thanksgiving |
|
It's boring and tedious but they pay me to be there. All in all, it's a pretty good job and I'm glad to have it. It pays for the things I love to do.

12. That is probably a much better way of looking at it than I do. |
|
By many measures I do have a good job. People are even envious of me (but I think that is because they are not aware of the way it really is, they just see the fun stuff.)
So it could certainly be much worse. For several reasons I have not been happy here, not the least of which is that my boyfriend moved out of town to a better job for him. And of course there is the fact that I am an introvert and my coworkers, mostly, are not. Some of it is just the uncertainty of my schedule. I have no idea until I get there tomorrow whether I will be working late or not. It's kind of the nature of the beast but it is not my nature to like uncertainty very much so there you have it.

13. Get the "I hate my job" handbook |
|
http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/f/valerie-frankel/i-hate-my-job-handbook.htmI used it to get laid off at my last bricks-and-mortar job -- 2002 or something like that. It has great tips for dealing with assholes such as the one you're dealing with.

14. Generally, supervisors don't care to hear tattling about petty things. |
|
But, also, I've always believed that when you do the right thing, everything else will fall into place. Do your work in a timely, efficient manner & don't complain to anyone about your job. Train yourself to be a positive person & I promise you'll see things so much differently.
It's going to be a great day tomorrow -- if you want it to be. :)

Apparently in our society if you are not an extroverted blind follower you are a horrible worker and human being. It is such attitudes that make it extremely hard for me to find a DECENT job beyond my current part-time employment via a job-placement company for the disabled.

19. I have Mondays and Tuesdays off... |
|
. . . . . . ...and on the bus on my way home Sunday nights... I constantly have to fight urges to encourage people to "Have a good weekend!!" . . . . . Years ago... I overheard a really young guy bussing tables at a buffet restaurant talking to a co-worker casually (gossipally) and, VERY self-righteously (he really sounded like The Church Lady) said, "Well... HE'S certainly not a team player." . . . . It was a TRULY disgusting thing to hear from someone that young in a job that relatively insignificant in a context like that. . I wanted to just slap his forehead lightly with the ends of my fingers tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap- tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap- tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap- tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap- tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap- tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap- tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap- tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap until he finally got the point. . . .

They always act so sweet and fake to your face too. I can't stand it. :(
They said the same thing to my dad: "You're not working enough for the team," when he was going in at 7am and coming home at 2am in the morning, 7 days a week. :eyes: (They were later fined for having people work too many hours)
