Did I really see what I thought I saw?

It's a long quiet middle-class residential street with loops off it and no outlet. I've been on it a few times and never seen more than a car every five or ten minutes

I'm entering the development to walk the neighborhoods

This time, there's a U-Haul barreling towards me as I drive up the street. I don't think the person behind the wheel really knows how to do this. The rental trunk is moving too fast, it's hogging the middle of the street, and the driver is over-correcting: as the truck approaches a parked car, the vehicle swerves to the far side of the street, then swerves to the other side of the street, then hogs the middle again. After watching this zigzag performance around several cars, I slow to a crawl

The truck swooshes past. There are surprisingly many cars behind the truck -- twenty or twenty-five of them, all headed behind the truck towards the exit. About half the cars have passed before I realize they all have their headlights on
