The Rusty Old Truck Chronicles continued
More progress on the old girl this weekend, took the bed off. She didn't want to give it up easy either, but with some coaxing from a side grinder, bfh , a chainsaw and a 3/4 ton dodge van and log chain, I got it off. :D

2. Yeah
The bed floor is wood, most if it is rotten and I could knock it out with a hammer to access the old bolt heads with the grinder to cut them off, but there were places in the old bed where the wood was surprisingly solid after 45 years and I had to cut it out to get to the bolts.

3. Anold hippie buddy had a Rambler sedan 4 door.
He took a chisel and cut off the back seat, put a wood bed on it and a plexiglass rear window. He called it his "happy car"

4. Progress!
My first car was a 1976 Chevy pick-up that could have been your truck's kid. It had a bed just like that on it with a wooden floor. I wish I had that truck back sometimes. It would be a classic now. I blew the motor up in it then traded it for a running car, a 1976 Chevy Impala station wagon, a.k.a. the biggest car known to man. I wish I had that one back, too.

5. I hear ya
I wish i had kept a lot of the old cars I had back in the day. They weren't worth much then , but seeing what they are selling for now , I'd have a treasure trove.

7. Yesss!!
A friend just texted me these pics, this is a '60 or '61 model and it's about 10 miles from my house, said the guy would sell it dirt cheap. That cab is in a lot better shape than the cab I have, plus it's got the cool wraparound windshield, so it looks like I may be pulling the cab and doing a full blown frame off resto after all :D
