Microsoft Confirms Oct. 11 Launch of Windows Phone 7

Hey, if it crashes in the middle of telemarketing calls, I might just get one!

1. Dont laugh - Ive read numerous reports saying WP7 is better than iphone and Android!

2. They're all too damn big. I'll stick with my old Motorola clamshell.

It places calls. It receives calls. I can access voicemail. That's all I need or want from a phone.

3. Aside from the crashing jokes, Windows mobile has always been pretty good

perhaps their best OS.

I have a Linux phone, so don't expect me to run out and buy it though.

4. Yeah, I've got an HP mini that came INSTALLED with Linux - never roboot it.

It has about a 6-hour battery run-time (all solid state - no conventional hard drive), but sometimes the battery actually DOES run out. That's the only time the thing ever gets rebooted.
