***Help! Hair emergency!***

This is SO stupid!

Never ever use a 2-in-1 shampoo and then follow it with a built-in smoothing glaze conditioner. Just don't do it! (It was the only shampoo we had and 2-in-1 is useless for me. I always have to use real conditioner.)

My hair now has some weird waxy build-up all around the crown that makes me look like I haven't washed it in about a week, even though I just got out of the shower. Regular shampoo and Head & Shoulders won't take it off. Neither has hand soap or orange dish soap! I think I will be trying some sort of industrial "clean your waxy floor" stuff next. *despairs*

6. The only "split ends" I worry about are on my wood stock in the garage.

Then again, I'm a guy. I have long hair but as long as it is clean and in a pony tail when I'm working on the bandsaw, drill press, scroll saw, radial arm saw, etc., I'm in good shape. If the hardwood gets split ends, THEN I'm pissed off. Too much moisture in the air followed by dryness is usually the culprit.

3. Neutrogena makes a good clarifying shampoo

I use it about once a month to take off any built-up styling products my regular shampoo misses.

4. Yes, I haven't needed it in years but hubby will have to pick some up for me tomorrow because this

is just ridiculous! I don't even use styling products anymore, so this build-up is entirely due to cleaning products. x(

10. When my infants got cradle cap, I used to douse their heads in mineral oil

(that's what baby oil is, today I'd use olive oil) then wash with Phiso-Derm. Worked every time. The oil dissolved the sludge, the PhisoDerm washed out the oil.

11. Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo

might fix your problem. It always has for me. A friend of mine who was a beautician said that J&J baby shampoo does a great job of stripping crud from hair, including waxy buildups from various conditioners.
