1. Total bullshit, and it sickens me that someone on a site like this would push the rightwing meme
Edited on Tue Oct-05-10 10:33 PM by Rabrrrrrr
that math is useless.

Sick. Seriously.

Really, really, really, fucking sick.

Yeah, I know, it's kind of funny in rightwing ignorant America to pretend that math is actually quite useless, and at some level this "joke" is kind of funny, but for anyone with a brain and who cares about the future of humanity the truth is quite obvious to be the exact opposite.

Seriously, the ignorant meme that "math is only for brainiacs" leads to the meme "science is only for athiest east coast elitist liberals" and therefore leads to "any political position that relies on science/thought/logic is anti-Bible" thinking which lets the assholes have more power in this country.

Thanks for dumbing us down enough that we can lose another election.

3. it's not about making you laugh, it's about fighting against the rightwing Creation Science/
intelligent Design meme that's otherwise gonna destroy this country's ability to go into the future.

I'm not surprised you find ti funny, though.

4. Sgt Hulka has a few words about rage:
.
.
.
.
.
Psycho: The name's Francis Soyer, but everybody calls me Psycho.
Any of you guys call me Francis, and I'll kill you.
.
Leon: Ooooooh.
.
Psycho: You just made the list, buddy. And I don't like nobody
touching my stuff. So just keep your meat-hooks off. If I catch
any of you guys in my stuff, I'll kill you. Also, I don't like
nobody touching me. Now, any of you ***** touch me, and I'll
kill you.
.
Sergeant Hulka: Lighten up, Francis.

5. Ah, yes, a totally non appropos meme you pull out of your ass
in a sad attempt to refute me.

Not surprised you went that way, but sadly, totally irrelevant.

You can thank algebra and more advanced mathematics for the magic humming box you used to transmit that nonsense graph.

27. and I agree...
diversity in education is very important. I know the trend is to get isolated, job related education, but a well rounded education makes you use your brain and think of things you never would normally. I had to take an art class once. I went in thinking I would hate it. I came out of it with a great love of impressionist art.

21. The way my algebra teacher
Or, his real job, athletics director, taught it, it was useless. Then I took algebra from a phd mathematics guy who actually liked and understood math. Not only could he explain it, but he liked it, and got it across to the whole class in maybe 5 minutes flat. Math teaching in this country sucks ass.

22. I had similar experiences...
.
.
...and then MiddleFingerMomDad arranged for a young engineer he
knew to tutor me in Physics. Incredibly NICE man, COOL nervous
Irish Setter that I could pet through most of our sessions -- and
he had a deep, abiding love for the subject.
.
Opened my eyes to concepts I had been clueless about.
.
.
.
But that's neither here nor there... and is NOT helping me throw
this coming election.

.
Very SHREWD of you to try to sidetrack me from my mission.

But I'M smart, too -- and could see right threw your feeble
attempt.

25. I used to have a job where I used no math whatsoever...
that was the best job of my life. I should never have quit/given-up at it.

Put me squarely in the "I hate math." camp.
