Pasta and or rice. I believe you can add them to any dish. Do you? |

I don't usually add them to any dish...
Instead, I use them as a base. For instance, my spaghetti sauce goes on top of vermicelli.
And my dish of leftover chicken (or beef or pork) with gravy and onions goes on top of rice...
Sometimes we eat rice by itself, but not usually.
How about you?

. . . I don't remember EVER having rice "by itself" until about two days ago. I cooked up some rice with sodium-free chicken broth and about a teaspoonful of dijon mustard stirred into the broth. . I had planned to use it as you do -- a base... but when I tasted it, I just couldn't stop "tasting" it until it was all gone. . . . I will do that again, rest assured. . . .

I've done similar things to rice, and those additions make it very palatable all by itself!
I'll bet it was tasty...

6. CP, you make an excellent point. |
|
As a base I would favor rice.
I once dated an Indian woman and considered marrying solely for the rice and beans dish she made.

2. You couldn't submerge a tube of cooked manicotti in fruit juice... |
|
. . . . . . . . . . . . ...and freeze it. . . . . . . . . . . . . A pastasicle would be nasty. . . . . .

but I don't think I necessarily would.
Scalloped potatoes was the first dish I thought of, which I don't think pasta and/or rice would enhance.
There are probably others.

7. No, it's *bacon* that can be added to anything. Anything! |
|
I can think of plenty of exceptions for rice or pasta. Like... uh... well... hold on, I'm thinking...
A sandwich! Yes, I don't think I've ever had rice or pasta on a sandwich. Bacon, on the other hand, yes.

10. I can tell no one has ever added bacon... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... to bacon... |
|
. . . . . . ...because if they HAD, it would have been just too awesome for the Universe to have survived it. . . . . . . . . Although... ... ... there was that time I fixed myself a BB&B sandwich. . . . . . . . . . . (nevermind) . . .

Chili Mac or Chili Rice? I prefer chili rice, though both are good.

12. No. Neither is particularly good with your satellite dish. |

They both fuck up the reception.
