I'll be storing it in a tupperware container, not the can, obviously.

A week?

1. Should last at least as long as regular milk.
Gracie: Oh, Carnation Milk, isn’t it wonderful? You know what puzzles me sometimes: how do they get milk from carnations?

2. Thanks.
I figured it was probably that.

My milk went bad, and I've got a can of this stuff, so I figured I'd just use that in my morning coffee, instead.

3. I don't think you'll be happy with it in coffee
Way too thick and sweet.

5. Not true--'Vietnamese coffee' is a layer of room temp SCM, with boiling
hot very strong coffee poured over. Wait 30 seconds, stir.

It is delicious, and I usually drink my coffee black.

11. Well, caramel is really easy--
pour a can of SCM on buttered pie plate and bake it for an hour and a half at 425. It will harden as it cools. Use cellophane, NOT plastic wrap to wrap individual pieces.

As for doing it with just the SCM, you want to make hard candy? You could make milk candy--you take a can of SCM, 1/4 cup of Karo, a cup of sugar, and heat them up in a large, heavy pot, like a Dutch Oven. The mixture is going to form up like a ball, and you should keep stirring until it's all pulled away from pot and in a ball--take it from the heat and then stir in a tablespoon of butter and one of vanilla--work fast...

Then, keep moving...pour the candy into a FLAT BOTTOMED, BUTTERED, GLASS PAN. Then you can break it after it cools. You can also use candy molds BUT--use the white kind, made for HARD CANDY--not the clear kind, made for chocolate, or you will burn yourself.

16. Yep
I take the lid off a can with a can opener, then I pop the lid from and old Pringle's can on top and dip a spoon out of it for my morning coffee.

The whole point with sweetened condensed milk is that the sugar acts as a preservative. Deeelicious!

13. Freeze it in icecube trays
Then pop it out and put it in ziplock bags. Shelf life then? Near fucking ever.

15. Eagle Brand has a recipe for peanut butter cookies.
Peanut butter cookies with the chocolate kiss in the middle.

I make em with chocolate chips in the middle and add walnuts.

Probably on their website.

You can also add lemon juice to it and make an obscene lemon pie with it.
