There's a new miracle drug to prevent Alzheimers
It is fantastic! I take it every day. It really, really works!

I just can't remember the name....

or where to buy it....

or if I took it today already...

Who are you, and why are you looking at me?

Where am I anyway?

6. I know you meant this post as levity, but...
would you also consider a post about not being able to administer a Parkinson's drug because your hands were shaking as funny?

(I ain't captain PC. but I have been a caretaker for a family member with Alzheimer's.)

12. I took care of my mother for 5 years. She never lost her sense of humor
in spite of having Dementia. Lighten up.

14. If you suspect you have it get thee to the doctor now
My mother took Aricept for 5 years and it practically stopped the disease in its tracks. She did lose some mental capacity but it progressed extremely slowly and almost imperceptibly. The sooner it's diagnosed the better the chances it will be slowed down.

10. Not funny (and un-recced)...
My mother passed away this last summer from the disease. It's just so sad to see someone who meant everything in the world to you lose their mental capacities and their life from the disease.

11. My dear madinmaryland...
Of course it's sad...

That awful disease takes the person's soul, and leaves them alive but not present at all...

Dark humor can help folks feel better. As a nurse, I remember doing just that when awful things were happening in my critical care unit...

I hope you will soon feel better.

13. My mother died last January after being sick with it for 5 years
She had the most amazing home hospice care and I'm very grateful she spent her last months of life at home. Home Hospice caretakers have a guaranteed place in Heaven if it exists. The OP didn't mean to be mean. He's not that kind of DUer.
