Mickey Mouse is meeting with a divorce lawyer... |

and the lawyer's advising him that it's unlikely he'll be granted a divorce on the grounds that Minnie is mentally ill.
Mickey says "I didn't say she was mentally ill. I said she's f**ing Goofy!"

9. I went there on mine, and we had a great time! |
|
Long time ago, when it was new and everything seemed like magic. We didn't have the $$ to go out of the country so we played our way across Florida and really had a blast. Besides, I got married in January and lived in Pittsburgh at the time. I'd have spent my honeymoon in Hell's honeymoon suite if it was warm and dry!

11. Because they have to leave the room sometime. |
|
When they do, they want something magical, charming, with a lot of options that will be memorable but not so unique that they won't want to go back to the room in a little while.
Disney World has enough restaurants, bars, outdoor activities (sailing, boating, golf), hotels and resorts, and amusement parks to keep anyone entertained without having to drive very far or commit to too much of a time investment if they don't want to, all close enough for at least a third of the nation to drive within a day. Visit New York, and you wind up taxiing all over the city for reservations or shows or whatever. Visit Aruba and you're stuck on a beach. Works for a lot of people, doesn't work for everyone.

17. It all comes down to what you like |
|
My family & I love Disney World. We could live there and be happy. Others can't stand the place.
I've seen many newlyweds wandering through the parks in their Mickey-ear tophats and Minnie bridal veils. They all seem to be having a lot of fun.
I think one other reason is that honeymoon packages at Disney are fairly reasonably priced, and are often given as a wedding gift by one of the parents. It's Florida, so the weather will probably be decent. It's not Vegas, so you probably won't loose all the gift money at the blackjack tables. It's not Jamacia, so there won't be interesting issues coming back in through immigration.

19. Yeah, I love the place, too. |
|
Every time I go, I wish I had more time. I keep wanting to go without the kids, or with a girlfriend if I ever work up the passion for one of those again. You can spend several days at Epcot, Hollywood, and Animal Kingdom and never do "kid" things at all. And I've spent ticket-free days at Disney wandering the Boardwalk and Downtown Disney and some of the resorts.
It would be on my short list of honeymoon places if I ever get married again, too, although probably it wouldn't win, because I'd figure we'd wind up there anyway, so I'd pick someplace I'm less likely to visit with kids. But I could--it's a whole world devoted to human fantasy, created by human fantasy, and it's nice knowing such a place exists.

Generations of kids who grew up loving Disney, and always wanting to go? When the time comes to take the single most splendiferous vacation of their lives, the theme parks might well be short-listed.

I'd wanna get X-rated, and a G-rated theme park seems wrong to do X-rated things at.
