Big Apple Comic Con!
I haven't been able to get out and go to a comic convention in far, far too long.

My meetup group is all going tomorrow. So if all goes well and I'm able to get out tomorrow then I'm going with them. :woohoo:

My wheelchair is charged. I've got a costume. There are guests there I want to meet (the actor who played Spike in the Buffy series, and the author of The Dresden File books). And friends are ready to help me throughout the day if I need it.

So, Here's introducing a new Green Lantern in Sector 2814! :P

1. Wish I could go.
I miss my convention days. Some day I'll make it again.

Have fun!

2. I hope you do make it again.
I used to go to conventions regularly, years ago. It was a long time though. I miss it too. So I'm really excited to be able to go. :)

When you go again, I hope it's sooner rather than later, and I you have a total blast! :D

4. Hi Peggy!
After all that weight I've lost, if I can't wear spandex now then I'll never, ever wear it. :P

I've managed to stop the weight loss, thankfully. And now I'm trying to find ways to put on weight.

I spend 15 years trying to put on weight when I was younger. It's weird having to go through this again at this age. It's the opposite of the struggle so many people have to deal with. But while I'm skinny, at least I can wear stuff like this. :)

I used to love to dress up tight or kind-of-skimpy stuff for costume parties in college. The difference was, I had real muscle tone and a body for it back then. Now I'm just skinny. But skinny is in, and I at least have enough shape left that people who have seen me try this costume on have complemented me a lot. So here I go.

5. Best laid plans...
I didn't get to go...

Our meetup group didn't have enough advance sale tickets for everyone in our group that wanted to go to the big apple comic con because more people wanted to go than we anticipated. Or else they just didn't buy as many tickets as they should have.

Either way, 6 of us were supposed to buy tickets at the door this morning. But they sold out. 6 of us had no chance to get in. :(

All this planning, prep., effort... oh well.

We hope the whole rest of the group is having a wonderful time representing us inside, and taking lots of pictures. :grouphug:

The costume won't go to waste. There is always be Halloween. :)

7. Oh, that sucks.
It's still an awesome costume.

BTW, my friend met Spike at Wizard-Con. She said he's nice but his singing sucks!

8. Thank you.
:)

I know I'll get a chance to wear it. Probably at Halloween. But if not at Halloween, then at a Costume party eventually. It won't go to waste.

It's surprising to find out which actors, writers, and artists are really nice, and which ones are people you really wouldn't want to meet. Fans at CONs (and the especially the Hospitality volunteers at the CONs) find out very quickly. Hanging out at the hospitality suit on the last day is a good way to hear some interesting stories. :)

6. Nice.
Cool costume too.

I went to Wizard-Con in August and had a blast.

I hope you have fun too! Get lots of back-issues and autographs!

Excelsior!
