It is a noble goal, granted.
More money to breast cnacer research.

But how much of the actual money collected actually GOES for research?

1. This is for breast cancer awareness, not fundraising
It's the "Cartoonists Care: The Sunday Funnies Pink Project." King Features is the only one doing it--United Features Syndicate didn't participate. I kinda wish we'd been alerted: we print the Sunday funnies when I'm not here, and when I first saw the page I thought, "where the fuck are the cyan and yellow channels?" I'm serious: I thought the comics were fucked up, until I went on line and found out they did it on purpose.

2. some aren't fully pink
but have some pink in them somewhere, like Prince Valiant---one of the women characters has a pink ribbon in her hair. In others, one of the female characters is wearing pink (Blondie, pink dress on Blondie, Fox Trot, pink sweater on Paige)

4. The walls in Blondie are painted pink, too
I thought the comics that "went big or went home" on the pink and ran the whole strip in magenta and black, rather than just making some elements of the strip pink, were cooler--witness the (ugh) Family Circus.

5. Must have been the print job done in my local paper
because the all pink ones hurt my eyes. But I liked the clever use of pink in the ones that didn't go "all in." :)

6. Yes, that was probably it...
Our pressman is very good about printing 2-color magenta/black stuff because we have a customer who runs that in his ads all the time. If you're not careful about balancing it out, the job will rip your eyes out.

I think we're all pretty much "aware" of cancer these days.
