It's a good day for Minka Kelly and her toned abs.

Esquire named the former Friday Night Lights actress (and girlfriend of Yankee Derek Jeter) the Sexiest Woman Alive in its November issue.

Not a bad year for Minka, who turned 30 in June and is feeling better than ever.

"I think it's the most exciting birthday I think I've ever had," the actress tells the mag. "I'm so excited to be a woman. Done with the twenties.

just the manliness of holding up a woman and letting all the buddies know he could "hit it" gags me a tad. makes 'em feel like a man. bad enough showing off to buddies with a "hit her", but hit "it" is beyond offensive.

i really wonder and come to conclusions on my own about the male that has to declare his ability to "hit" anything.

24. She's a good choice, IMO. Often, I don't go for the

look that is fed to us as "sexy." I find prettiness like hers to do the job. I don't think these "sexiest" polls really accomplish anything as that's extremely subjective - and someone down the street could be the sexiest to a person. But I do have a big crush on her. The Jeter thing is a fault, but everyone has some. :-)
