1. Miss Kitty liked it rough.
You should have seen the claw marks on her back.

2. I watch Gunsmoke nearly every evening, it seems like he
had a cozy relationship with the town madam and he sure drinks a lot of free beer while on the job.

3. The Thing!
My favorite monster movie!

I didn't like it when James killed the dogs, though. I didn't like that part in the remake either.

Is James Arness still living? I heard somewhere a couple years ago that he has Alzheimer's and is in a nursing home.

8. Oh yeah
I forgot about Festus.

I wonder if he was related to Uncle Fester?
They have a kind of similar voice as I recall...

13. Arness got a Purple Heart from the Anzio landings.
While John Wayne spent the war in Hollywood and played being a hero on celluloid, Mr. Arness was the real deal.

9. A grand-nephew of his once kept me from getting squished by a stage-diver
He's a friend of a friend, and about 6'6". Caught the diver in mid-air right above my head, then tossed him about 10 feet away.
All i could do was look up in astonishment and mouth the words 'thank you', because that would have hurt like hell otherwise.

10. Small world.
I lived across the street from his son's photography business.
Very kind & friendly guy. He died a few years back & I had remembered
him so fondly I wrote to his widow to express my feelings & she
wrote back warmly. Thanks for the memories.

11. James Arness isn't dead?
His younger brother, some guy named Graves, just passed away.

The Magnificent Seven wasn't great for nothing. Cowboy/Samurai same thing.
