12. Brownies are easier than Girl Scouts to get in the oven.
They are smaller and don't struggle as hard.

4. My dear hippywife!
Ooh, I can smell them from here! Well, I wish...

No sky watching for us tonight, though...

It is completely clouded over and has been drizzling on and off all day...

Have fun tonight, sweetie!

5. Thanx, dear Peg.
It's starting to cloud over some here, too, but not expecting rain. Even if we can't stargaze too well, we spending the night out there.

I'm on my way out. You have a lovely evening, sweetie.

7. Fun!
We have awesome sky gazing at our cabin because there is no light pollution. We had a guest once that brought his telescope and we looked at jupiter, you could even see the red spot. It was cool cool!

Have fun!! Maybe you'll get lucky and see a meteor!

9. You can see Jupiter and a few of its moons right now
with nothing but binoculars.

We live in a rural area, so it's really good stargazing alot of the time. However it's best from about 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. I got up at 2:30 to go potty and the skies were just glorious!

When you live out in the dark year round, you'd be amazed at how often you will see meteors even between significant events.

It's hard to live out and not become something of an amateur astronomer, or even just a simple stargazer.

I loved the time we camped up in the Rockies outside of Denver in the Arapahoe National Forest.

13. I made some just the other day.
First time I've made them from scratch.

Turned out damn good, if I do say so myself.

14. Scratch baking is always
better than processed ingredients and chemicals in a box. :hi:

Here's the recipe I use and it is perfect. I don't have espresso powder and most of the time I don't add the chocolate chips, but with all the butter and sugar in them, they are always really good, the perfect compromise between a fudgy and a cakey brownie.

15. That's very similar to the one I used.
Except I used 6oz of unsweetened chocolate instead of cocoa powder, and also cake flour (finer grind, lower protein content) instead of all purpose flour.

I got it out of the America's Test Kitchen baking book.
