Helping someone move sucks! Moving sucks in general. |
|
I was helping my best friend move yesterday and today.
My aching back and arms.
She got the U-Haul, packed up the boxes and got everything ready.
But she's 5'0 and 130 lbs. Guess who lugged boxes of books and plates up three flights of stairs?
Ok, I can deal with that but today she had to move a couch. A 70s gold velor one piece that was about 10 feet long.
It was like freaking Tetris getting it up those narrow stairs. So she and another friend (5'2 and about 110 pounds) are struggling with their end and I'm trying to sherpa the thing up the stairs.
Her new place is on the right of a "T" at the end of the hallway so it's about twenty minutes of "Up, down, pull it back, lift it up, let's put it on it's side, Wait! You're going to the hall-light!"
We get the thing in there and I collapse for about a half-hour.
Oy, moving is never fun.

1. Hmm, give me your cell phone number. I'll call you when I move. |
|
Don't worry, I'll put it off as long as possible. I hate moving too. :hi:

2. At least the boxes were packed! We helped friends |
|
and when we arrived at the crack of dawn, we ended up packing their crap, removing stuff from walls, and sorting stuff to give away ALL before really moving the stuff. I swore we'd never do that again!

7. I like to move, as long as there are a crew of moving dudes to come in |
|
to come get the stuff, pack it up, move it to next house, and move it all into the new place
I agree, moving without a crew of young, tall, handsome, sweaty, muscular moving men.......................sorry, had to hold that thought for a few minutes :)....it sucks to move otherwise....
