2. Was it in 3-D or regular
Does it make a difference?

4. Regular
And I don't know if it makes a difference since I didn't see it in 3-D. Considering some of the things on screen it might have been cool in 3-D.

5. I hope you like it!
I thought it was damned good. The ending was kind of a shock to me.

8. Very good show. The girls liked it, and so did I.
I wish I could have seen the flying sequences on a big screen.

That studio has come a long way--technology-wise--since the first Shrek. The humans actually look human.

15. I thought Hiccup was cute...
And I think he and Astrid will be a very good couple, should they decide to pursue it.

6. I really liked it.
Saw it in IMAX 3D and regular on a small screen, almost just as good on the small screen because the story, characters and animation are all so good.

9. Do you have a dragon?
If not, do you have a dog?

If you have a dog, did you try the same method for teaching the dog to sit, as is used in the film to teach the dragon to sit?

Do they teach the dragon to play dead? Did you try that with your dog?

Have you decided on a new car yet?

Do you have a favorite color?

Is it orange?

Are there any tips n the film that you found helpful in training your pet?

If you don't have a dragon, are you planning on getting one?

Have you read all the responses in Graywarrior's "thread that will never die" ?

Have you read any of them?

Should I have put each of these questions in a separate post, so as to make your thread more busy?

I'm sorry nobody replied sooner to your original post, but at least you're getting responses now!

12. Do you have a dragon? No.
If not, do you have a dog? No, I have 4.

If you have a dog, did you try the same method for teaching the dog to sit, as is used in the film to teach the dragon to sit? Fortunately mine never hacked up a fish for me to eat.

Do they teach the dragon to play dead? Did you try that with your dog? No, they did not teach the dragon to play dead. My dogs can't sit still long enough to convincingly play dead either.

Have you decided on a new car yet? 2011 Ford Fusion in blue.

Do you have a favorite color? Yes.

Is it orange? No.

Are there any tips n the film that you found helpful in training your pet? Patience is a virtue. That and good sewing skills.

If you don't have a dragon, are you planning on getting one? I'd like to. Not sure he'd be able to fit in the bed with us, though. Paul and I may have to sleep on the floor.

Have you read all the responses in Graywarrior's "thread that will never die" ? Graywarrior has a thread?

Have you read any of them? No.

Should I have put each of these questions in a separate post, so as to make your thread more busy? No, this works perfectly! I have a short attention span and that could have caused problems.

I'm sorry nobody replied sooner to your original post, but at least you're getting responses now! And I appreciate it! I honestly think that this movie will rank in my top 5 list behind Rocky Horror and Mulan.

16. I saw previews for the film
we're more-or-less discussing, but haven't seen the film.

It did look interesting, though I am wary of 3D stuff.

I hope you're very happy with your new car, and it lasts longer than your previous one. (it didn't look very old, but it did look totaled.)

:hi:

17. We bought the Blu-Ray DVD
The movie was still excellent even without the 3-D (not sure if it would have been better with it). I think the reason that I suggest it so highly is the end. I don't want to give it away so won't say much about it, but from my view the end made it worthwhile.

And we like the new car. It's lower than our dearly departed vehicle, but still pretty spiffy.

21. HTTYD is rated in IMDB's 250 best movies ever.
It is at 180 now, but still, that says that other people agree with you, it is a really good movie. http://www.imdb.com/chart/top

14. I liked the whole package....
To me it was one of the most well done movies I'd ever seen. (The follow up cartoon on the 2nd disc was OK. I thought it was going to be a feature length, though, not just a short.)

19. Doesn't the moral of the movie go something like this?
In order to defeat a perceived enemy, you're better off taming it instead of destroying it.

20. I'm not sure if that's the moral...
I think that the moral is more like, 'learn about your opponent before you're sure he IS the enemy'.

22. Yep.
Hiccup discovered that his "enemy" was just as friendly and fun-loving as he was. He also found that his "enemy" didn't really want to fight any more than he did.

There's probably a big murky message about not caving to social pressure and opening your eyes to the real forces driving wars, but one of the things I liked MOST about the movie was the fact that the message was delivered very subtly. It wasn't a pointless movie, but it also didn't beat you over the head with its moralizing. It struck a great balance, and was fun to watch.

26. Also that you can win by being smart and using your head.
That's a theme that seemed to run through all of the reviews I read anyway.
