"There are multiple levels of Gay Music. Some bands are what we like to
call Gateway Bands. They lure children in with Pop Grooves and Salacious
Melodies leaving them wanting more. They’ll move on to more dangerous
bands and the next thing you know you’ve got a homosexual for a child."

M-m-m-m-m... this site got me thinking about Ted Nugent in a loincloth
(read the list).

I thought I knew what "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" was all about.

1. For some reason, the band on that list that really made me crack up:
King Crimson

Also, sometimes satire can tip its hand just a little too far - If there are any actual homophobic fundies out there that have any idea who Wesley Willis is, then *I'll* suck a doberman's dick.

Also, Blondie on the Safe List? - sure they had some punk cred, but they did disco songs.

Good link.

3. I actually thought it was a serious site at first ...
.
.
.
...and the name of Wesley Willis caught me, too.
.
.
.
WHA?!?!?!?
.
.
.
That was probably the first of many clues that led me to
the EVENTUAL realization that it's a well-done satirical site.

Worldly as I am -- I'm also, at times... a vulnerable and
naive babe-in-the-woods.

5. True, but Wesley *was* a very religious man. ("Jesus Is the Answer," etc.)

Then again, he did allegedly once get thrown out of church for "calling one of the deacons a motherfucker," and then retaliate by "conking the preacher over the head" with a 2X4. So maybe he backslid from time to time...

2. "Rise up! Rise up!"
Oh dear, I snorted my Organic Jade Pearl Green Tea right over my keyboard. Gates of Heaven, indeed...

(And here I've been wrong about Cyndi Lauper all these years)

4. GREAT lyricist...
.

We're rising... rising... rising up together.
Standing up... standing up as one.
He's pushing... pushing... pushing us to righteousness.
When you feel it will you come?
Are you coming?
