Advice to Yankee fans.
Embrace the bitter loss.

Hold it close, pet it, and name it George.

1. Good win for Texas.
Lee pitched very, very well. Nothing really you can do. Lee outpitched Andy, who really only gave up one bad pitch.

2. What a great game!
The Yanks are no doubt a great team. After all, they can afford anyone. However, the Rangers have shown they can play with the best of them. Here's to a great series with the Rangers on top!

4. That would be a matchup for the ages, wouldn't it?
A great story line on more than one level!

5. Oh, and when your team gets dusted like that?
Just slink out of the stadium and don't interfere with the post-game show with your moronic hollering. Try to act like you've seen a teevee camera before.

And while this isn't a "fan" bit of advice, next time you build a stadium put the right field fence at a distance from home plate fit for men to hit a ball.

8. And for the rest of you who perennially don't even make the playoffs
(including Texas fans), there are 27 Championship trophies and 40 American League pennants (one each from last year) on display at Yankee Stadium.

There's your advice.

10. But the rest of Baseball LOVES the money they give them
even when they pocket the money instead of improving their teams.

http://www.bizofbaseball.com/LuxuryTax2003Present.htm

The Yankees have given OVER$175 MILLION via the 'luxury tax' placed on their earnings. EARNINGS. They have the money to spend, and they give a big chunk to MLB.

I have no love loss for the supposed mega-rich owners who take the money and run (AKA Milwaukee).

11. Then there are teams like my Washington Nationals
who work very hard on trying to improve themselves but cannot generate the type of revenue that the Yankees do. Therefore, they can't compete. Yeah, we can afford one star hitter and one Ace pitcher at this point. How is that being competitive. The luxury tax doesn't really help other teams that much.

13. Isn't the Nats' owner one of the richest owners in baseball?
Does Paul Allen and his $30+ billion still own the Mariners? How come they suck most years?

Steinbrenner isn't even in the top 10 among wealthiest owners.

14. To the uber rich, the teams are a way to wash money and feed their egos
so anyone giving me that 'Yankee Billionaires crap' can suck a lollipop.
