2. See, this is just going to anger up my blood again:
1) Martin shows no signs of actually completing the series

2) HBO canceled Carnivale before its story was done.

It does look pretty sweet though.

3. I wish he'd stop fucking with the TV show and finish the damned books.
I'm starting to wonder if I'll be dead before that old fart manages to even finish "A Dance With Dragons", much less "The Winds of Winter".

:grr: :grr: :grr:

4. I'm getting impatient with him.
I want him to finish A Dance With Dragons, but at the same time I want him to write a high-quality book. But damn. He last updated the progress of that book three and a half years ago. Grrr.

5. Patience believers
George believes this is what he will be remembered for and "good enough" isn't anymore. He has became a perfectionist. His manuscript is up to 1200 pages, and he has had to move some of the material to Winds of Winter. But I fear he is under the gun at this point, the children actors have a shelf life that's going to last only so long. With Dance nearly completed, he'll have to finish Winds and a Dream of Spring within 6 years. Not good odds considering it's been 5 since Feast.

But I'm ok with it...I want him to write this magnum opus for the ages rather have it fall apart because of compromises.

George with Kristian Nairn, the actor cast to play Hodor!

10. It was so long before the last book was released
that I stopped reading it after a few dozen pages - I had forgotten almost all of the characters and a lot of the events of the previous book. I might has well have been reading Greek.
