1. Because they want to bury it and they know damn well that linoleum is too hard to dig up.
At least that's my theory. They always go for carpets, beds, clothes in the laundry basket, etc. rather than hard flooring or tubs or sinks.

2. backsplash
dogs do it too. Barfing on a hard surface means the possibility of backsplash into their face, so they barf on the carpet.

8. Barfing onto linoleum DOES present the danger of backsplash...

5. In my experience
it has less to do with the surface of the floor, and more to do with the where the foot traffic is. I always find a hork right in the doorways.

6. Get yourself some of that enzyme pet cleaner. It really erases all signs
of pet messes.

9. You know, I never thought about it
but it's true. They DO always do that, don't they??

I've got 6 indoor cats, and on any given day at least 2 of them will hock up a hairball or ten on the carpet. Not only that, but now that you mention it, they also aim for the area rugs on the linoleum, not the linoleum!!

10. LOL! I have no idea
I wish they would just move a few more feet and hurl on the tile. It would be so much easier to clean up. I have one cat that, just like clockwork, when I shampoo the carpets, she comes along shortly after and coughs up a hairball on the carpets.

11. I have watched him walk while puking just to GET to the carpet.
He leaves a nice trail that I always manage to find with a bare foot once it is cold but still wet...

:puke:

12. I've shoved mine onto the vinyl only to have him...
...walk right back over to the carpet for round 2.

Nature's Miracle has a great cat barf remover, BTW. Even works on set-in stains.

13. Ours Do Not Discriminate
They puke anywhere and everywhere. And when you have 5, the house is a pukatorium.

14. Why does one of mine occasionally vomit on my bed?
Seriously, you can't freaking jump down and get it on the floor? Oh no, I gotta come home to puke on the bed. Lazy cats.

Yeah and they always manage to throw up on my rugs.

17. Wish I knew the answer.
I hate when I don't see it and walk in it. It's so gross.
