The Police (the band)
Man, I love this band. Too bad Sting and Stewart Copeland hate each other! I guess Andy Summers is the nice guy in all of this...

Anyway, favorite Police songs?

Mine are

"King Of Pain"
"Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic"
"So Lonely"
"Walking on the Moon"

and many more....

1. The only time I saw them was in the gym at Georgetown University. The white noise drowned them out.
I had to clamp my hands over my ears to hear the music over the white noise. And yet, through all of this, the bass player spent the entire concert in front of a 10'x10' pile of amplifiers wagging his head around. He had to be completely deaf and was just using the vibrations to tell where he was in the song. Not a great concert, but primarily because of the venue. That was like 1983 or something.

2. Message in a Bottle
My Police story is that by the time I figured out it was the same band singing all those songs I liked, they had broken up. :-(

5. "Peanuts", "No time this time"
Saw them in Memphis. They rocked a tile out of the ceiling of the old Mid-south Coliseum and it fell on the guy who played bass at times in concert on their Ghost in the machine tour. Joan Jett opened.

They were a major band for three guys.

sailing on boats w/reasonably done, but poorly written a cappella tunes is what I remember most about the crap that passed for music during my HS years.

Thank God for Sting and his band!!! Seriously! He and his band was among a small # I'd actually admit to liking back in the day. Or now.

But alas, he's changed and so has his backup... personally I think he just gets better and better! I like the fact that he's been exploring different genre's instead of staying in some sort of time warp as many bands have.

But that's just me ... :hi:
