Hopeless half-remembered movie snippet...

I was pleased to see that someone was able to identify a movie earlier from one scene. I've had a moment from a movie in my head for years and I can't remember what the movie was. From time to time, it really bothers me. There's really not much to go on, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I think the movie was black and white. The main characters are kids. I think 3 or 4 young teens. I remember a really dark tone. I think much of the movie is spent in the woods. At one point a girl says "It's hot in the damned forest." or something like that - and it just went through me. I can't remember anything else about the movie, but I'll always remember her and how she somehow horrified me the way she said that line.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

Kids couldn't say such foul words as "damned" on TV or in movies.

2. Well, I think it was the early to mid 80s when I saw it.

I think it may have been British. And when I saw it, it didn't seem new.
