They made impressions of my ears yesterday for my new hearing aids |
|
I have been without ears since sept.2009,very frustrating.I can't talk to people on the bus and I am always asking people to repeat themselves. In about three weeks, it all will be over.
I am getting my hearing aids through a program called "hear now". They provide hearing aids to people who can't afford them. These aren't your crappy "miracle ear" hearing aids or anything like that, these are the top of the line starkies. They cost about $3,000 for the pair.
I also think that is why I really turned on the drinking for the last year, because I am so isolated and can pretty much only communicate on the computer. With my new ears,I can actually go out and explore the world that I haven't experienced in over a year. It's going to be very nice!
I am getting behind the ear hearing aids beause they are more durable and easier to clean. My ex wouldn't let me get behind the ears because they looked "dorky" and he didn't want to be seen with me if I wore them. Jerk.
Anyway,YAY ME!! :-)

I always liked the behind the ear ones and thought the in the ear ones looked dorky!! But then , I'm kind of a "Deaf-mind" person (that's a play on a well-known Deaf idiom, "Hearing-mind", used to describe Deaf people who are, like DINO's, deaf-in-hearing-loss-only.)
Anyhow, heyyyy, why not get colored ear molds?? All the kids wear them now. If I wore aids, I'd get lavender/aqua !
:hi:

2. They probably wouldn't go for colored molds because they are a charity |
