Support Public radio and why I love it so.....
On my trip East the past couple of weeks, I read a Biography of Woody Guthrie. "Woody Guthrie A Life" By Joe Klein. An incredible book. I finished reading it last night. At the end I cried like a baby, the story is so strong and so rooted in the history of the US and that of some of my family members...

I have some of the music but not much on my MP3 player. Some Ramblin Jack etc.but I haven't really heard any of it for a long time and some not ever.

This morning and I wake up, and like I do every Saturday, turn on the morning show on KVMR, a community radio station out of Nevada City CA. www.kvmr.org. An americana show. And the guy is playing that music. Pete Seeger, Arlo, Leadbelly and others covering Woody or those who played a main role in Woody's life. Pete telling stories about playing with Woody at the events from the book.

I am so glad to have a great radio station like KVMR in my area. Grateful Dead shows, Reggae shows, hawaiian shows, rocking country shows, Rabble Rousing, Jamband shows, bluegrass shows, gardening show, the free market etc. Not to mention lots of left leaning politics.

So this will be pledge week at your local public or community radio station, give if you can.
