Listening to Phish after 5 years of not listening to any of their stuff... |
|
Or any Jam Band for that matter.
Jam bands had become boring, and uninventive.
And everything Phish could have done in concert, they did.
So on this day, five years later, I pop on Hoist.
It was a good album.

I must say that I don't think I've ever been around that much open and obvious smoking of the bud in my life.

2. I know hoist didn't get a lot of love from fans, but |

it was the studio album of theirs that found it's way most often into my player.
But I too drifted away from jam bands, I'm not sure why. In the case of Phish I am pretty sure I was just disappointed too often in their live shows--the frst few I saw were extremely hjigh energy with a lot of frenetic parts (back in the "Picture of Nectar" tour) but they seemed to get progressively mellower, and frankly more boring as the years went by.
When I stopped going to live shows by jams bands regularly, I guess I just drifted away from the scene.
