If spontaneous, then yes, increased risk of recurrance.

3. O well, looks like you are in for another week of looking at the floor.
I had a spontaneous detachment last year, from a tiny spot to totally blind in less than 24hrs. The retina was just floating horizontally, attached by only a tiny piece of tissue. The retinal specialist was not optimistic about the outcome given that the entire retina was detached. He must have put every bit of skill he had into it. Before, that eye was 20/25, now one year later it is 20/15. He and I are both very happy. Neither he nor my optometrist had ever seen a recovery from a severe detachment like this. I have been very fortunate.

I know the trouble you are having with the keyboard.
