Well, I think this really doesn't frickin bode very well |
|
I tried to order DSL internet service online from my phone company :bounce:
The website said they'd send a confirmatory email "within 24 hours" :eyes:
Thirty hours later, no confirmatory email
So I try to check order status on line: I try again and again but the page never loads
So I try their live chat, again and again, but it never lets me chat :argh:
So I call them by phone, go through the automated assistant until I finally reach a human, explain my problem, get bounced to another person, explain my problem, get bounced to another person, explain my problem, and get bounced to yet another person
Person looks for my order but can't find it :scared:
Then person says it can take 24 to 48 hours for the order to come through the online system :banghead:
Finally person says they're might be having trouble and might lose a lot of online orders
So I place the order again :dunce:
Person says order's in the system and I should get a confirmatory email soon :P
Six hours later, no confirmatory email x(
:D

1. I think maybe I wouldn't trust them for internet service either. |
|
If they can't get the front end right, odds are there's trouble on the other end too.

3. There are several possible outcomes. |
|
They could lose the order again (probably). They could process both of your orders and send you double-bills from now on. Do you know anybody who uses them for a service provider? If so, are they still using a tin cup and a string?

:bounce:
It arrived with everything, that was supposed to be listed on the packing slip, actually listed on the packing slip :)
Unfortunately not everything, that was listed on the packing slip, was actually in the box :+
Also, the instructions in the box didn't match the instructions on the website :eyes:
I couldn't get the effin modem to work :evilfrown:
I tried for a whole day :banghead:
So finally a week ago Thursday I called them up and said I needed them to send the rest of the stuff that was supposed to be in the box but wasn't
They promised to send it and said I'd get in Friday or Saturday
Friday came :bounce:
Saturday came :eyes:
Monday came
Tuesday came :wtf:
So I took a tiny bit of time off from canvassing on Tuesday and called them again :argh:
They promised to send it again :hangover:
Then part of it arrived Tuesday evening :silly:
So I tried some more on Wednesday without any luck to get the effin modem to work :freak:
Finally I called tech support :woohoo:
And we tried this :bounce:
And we tried that :tinfoilhat:
And we tried various something elses :grr:
And they tested my line various ways :fistbump:
And none of it worked so I made an appointment for somebody to come by on Thursday :spray:
So we did this and that and it's a long story and it finally worked with something else unplugged so it was all my fault and we had a nice conversation and I got some useful advice if I ever want to do this or that and they left and I plugged the something else back in and it still works so the bottom line is I still don't have a clue what the frickin problem was

5. What a bunch of incompetent morons! |
|
When I got my cable Internet I went to the cable company office, signed up. Went to Best Buy, got a cable modem, hooked up the cable modem, and I was good.

6. The tech guys were ok. The phone people were pleasant enough. |
|
But, yeah, there was some incompetence there somewhere

8. Frontier. Took over local service from Verizon about six months ago. |
|
The service, now that I actually have it, seems to work fine, knock on wood
