I was a little disappointed... :-(

'Lips' at the beginning was the best part. And they should have reprised "Science Fiction Double Feature" over the end credits, like the movie, and they didn't...

1. I will watch on Hulu tonight and let you know...
I actually saw Rocky in a "real" theater and most people didn't get it...the manager made people stop yelling "asshole" and threatened to throw them out.

17. True, but it's "high school" (and they're thinking of the parents buying the CD).

3. Good grief. Just how risque did you think they could be at
7:00pm prime time kid hour, in a show about kids, and on Fox???
So, they played it safe, but discussed all points of view, and the music was great!

4. It was a strange combination of risque and safe
They changed all those words in "Toucha Toucha Toucha Touch Me", and yet had that steamy re-enactment...with students watching!

5. It was one of my least fav. episodes
Mainly because I've never seen Rocky Horror Picture Show.

6. It certainly was.
Not just as a RHPS fan but also as a Glee fan, what a letdown!

BTW, our 18 yr. old daughter attended her first RHPS last weekend and had a blast. *sniff*

7. I liked it a lot
And yes, I am a huge Rocky Horror fan and went to many, many midnight shows in my youth.

Nobody said that the Rocky Horror Glee Show was supposed to be an exact recreation of the movie, anyway. And if they had, then the gripers would have complained that there were too many flashy musical numbers and not enough plot (Glee storylines, that is). I think they incorporated a very nice mix of some Rocky Horror stuff with interesting plotlines for the characters. Plus they made some nice statements about pushing the envelope just for shock value--perhaps a little self-referential/meta, there, but I liked it.

Glee is hitting that level of popularity where they're damned if they do, damned if they don't. People who watch the show have their own ideas about how each episode should go, and get irritated when it doesn't match what they thought it was going to be like. So I'll say it again, just like I said during LOST:

Dear Gripers--You are the AUDIENCE, not the writers or producers. The writers and producers cannot read your minds and don't want to anyway. The last time they took an audience's preferences seriously, we got Snakes on a Plane. Nuff said. If you really want to enjoy your favorite TV shows, just sit the fuck back and let it wash over you instead of trying to steer the ship. Sincerely, MG, who's really more laid back than this irritated message sounds :*

8. There is no way they could have been true to the original.
The FCC would have blasted Faux with so many fines that Glee would have been banned from the airwaves overnight. A number of conservative groups are already chomping at the bit to get Glee booted from TV because of its depictions of underage sexuality, it's "glorification" of teen pregnancy, and its favorable portrayals of teen bisexuals and homosexuals. Plus, it's a fun show, and fundies can't stand fun.

Glee couldn't do a proper RH tribute for the same reason that the RH will never be run on broadcast prime-time television. It's way too racy to make it past the FCC censors.

That was sort of the point of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's all the fun you're not allowed to have.

Have the album, the CD, the book, and a Tim Curry-autographed album cover (in person).
Know it backwards and forwards.

LOVED "The Rocky Horror Glee Show"! Finn was a perfect BB-Brad. Kurt was awesome as Riff-Raff! The Time-Warp rocked!

And Becky's "Give me chocolate or I will cut you" was Emmy-worthy!

11. I would have loved to have seen Curt sing Riff-Raff's part:
"The darkness must go down the river of night streaming...
Flow Morphia slow, let the sun and light come gleaming
Into my li-i-i-i-fe,
Into my l-i-i-i-i-i-fe..."

They didn't show that... :-(

12. I thought it had some good moments, but was a bit of a letdown overall
I'm only a casual fan, at best, of Rocky Horror, so I was open to a lot of different directions they could have gone with it. I thought there were some good scenes, like the "Touch-a ..." scene and the "give me some chocolate or I'll cut you" line. But overall it was just okay.

15. Very inconsistent show...tried to have too much backstory...they guys' bodies,
Sue's plotting, Matt morrison and what's her name and john Stamos...it really wasn't about Rocky horror at all.

18. I thought it was horrible
The shiny-bright tone Glee sets to everything simply doesn't work with the dark themes of Rocky.

I've played the show twice in the last two years and I took it darker than the original.
