Poll question: Scariest movie monster?
Register your Other vote by replying below. I think Freddy and Jason qualify as zombies (being dead, and all) but if you want to break either one out, by all means run with it.

3. Pod People. They look like us but aren't
More frightening than the rest because you don't die. You wake up without your soul.

Second place is for space vampires as in Lifeforce. Especially when they took all the blood from Patrick Stewart's body to form a giant blood head in the helicopter.

11. Actually, you DO die (at least in the 70s remake)
A clone of you emerges from the pod and you dry up like Spongebob and Patrick under the heat lamp.

12. Well, yes, technically you die in both versions
Edited on Wed Oct-27-10 11:51 AM by CBGLuthier
And all the other derivatives.

But, at least as implied in the movies, the thing that replaces you thinks it is you.

Fine hairs of course. I also believe every idiot who steps into a star trek transporter dies and is copied anew but that's another "matter." :-)

6. Other: Hannibal Lector.
The monsters in human skin are always the most frightening.

16. +1 It can impersonate a human almost perfectly, and kills in really horrible, gruesome ways...
and when it's brought into the open it turns into a hideous abomination from your worst nightmares.

18. Witches. The Blair Witch made me sleep with the lights on for two weeks.
I don't even know why, I wasn't that scared during the movie, but I woke up in the middle of the night after watching it, trembling and sweating and terrified that if I reached over and turned on the bedside lamp something was going to grab me. I felt like that for two weeks, then it went away all at once. I guess there was some psychological trigger or switch that got flipped.

Cool monster. Pretty good movie, but the witch herself was awesome.

20. That's a good one.
Yeah, that one scared me. What also creeped me out was the unseen baddie in Paranormal Activity.

19. Vampires and werewolves are awesome, not scary.
What scares me are zombies, especially the ones from the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead.
