Any suggestions for a hypoallergenic kitty litter?
I'm using Fresh Step unscented, but I still find that it generates too much dust. Any thoughts?

3. World's Best Cat Litter
Made of corn - not much dust, if any. Works really well to control odors, too. People are surprised to learn we have cats when they come over.

From the website:

It's pet and people safe.

Because World's Best Cat Litter™ is made from all-natural ingredients—with no added chemicals—it's totally safe for cats and the whole family. And when you compare cat litters, you'll find there's no silica dust for you or your cat to breathe.

6. anything not clay based
Swheat Scoop is wheat based. We have used that; it's great. There are several corn based litters. Pine is excellent. Your kitty will have choices.

12. I sometimes mix the pine into whatever litter I'm using
Feline Pine clumping, specifically. It is good at covering up odors. My cats wouldn't mind if I used alone, as it's nice and soft on the paws. But, it tracks too much for my liking.

8. Day 1: she's sticking with her old litter and litter box
even though I moved it and put the new litter and box where the old one had been. As everybody knows, cats are Republicans.:)

9. You can try mixing the new and old litter. Start with 1/3 new stuff, then
go to 2/3 new after a week or so, and finally go to all new in another week if everything goes well.

I also use Nature's Miracle - another corn-based litter that generates almost no dust at all.

11. PetSmart's "Exquisicat" has an excellent clone of this litter.
The clone is identical to WBC's "multi-cat" formula. I use whichever is cheaper at the time. They both have yucca in them, which gives an unusual scent, although not an unpleasant one, IMO. My old man has kidney disease, and pees copiously. These are the two best litters as far as clumping his deluges goes.

7. currently trying Arm & Hammer CORN litter
My first bag of it. The cats like it. It holds down every bit of odor. It doesn't seem to absorb quite pee as much as clay, but maybe I just didn't fill the trays as full.

We are laughing about the turds looking a bit like hush puppies or chicken legs, tho.

It is scented, so dunno if it is hypoallergenic, but Arm & Hammer would know.

10. I use it on occasion.

You need to put in at least 3 inches worth. I have a kitty with kidney disease, and he pees a lot. The A & H still holds the clumps pretty good, although not as good as World's Best or Swheat Scoop (a wheat-based litter). My kitties prefer it, however, because the grains are smaller, so it's easier on their feet than the coarser litters.

Nature's Miracle, as was mentioned above, is almost identical to this brand, although I think the scent is less strong.
