1. Never eaten their things, although they're VERY popular here in Tucson... |
|
. . . ...ESPECIALLY with the retirees (convenience). . . . Not that it's "old people food" or anything. . . .

7. Popular here in Maine too. My dad was ordering some for a while there. Some pretty good stuff but |
|
like all pre-prepared food pretty high in sodium etc.

3. It's been a few years since I had any of their food... |
|
But it all tasted delicious, especially the meat and ice cream. As I recall, it's quite expensive, though. Another thing, once you buy something from them, they will drive you crazy with phone calls and stopping by your home. They may have changed since I bought anything from them.

I grew up a rural area in NW Minnesota and we would order from the truck when it came by. Love their ice cream.

But their ice cream is delicious. I always have a couple of their pizzas and meditereanennnn veggie mix on hand. Love their meatballs, lemon pepper chicken breasts, fries, angus burgers, hamburger meat, chicken breasts, fruit mixes, breads, tortellini, steaks.
They make Mrs Smith's pies and Red Baron pizza
They also take food stamp cards.

13. Yep, we're a bi-weekly stop on a local Schwan's route. |
|
Some of the food is a bit pricey, but it's all very good.
I love their Italian Parmesan Shrimp. Mix in a little pasta and a salad, and you have a meal rivaling anything you'll find in a restaurant.

15. Yeah, Schwan's is real good |
|
I'm not big on frozen entrees, but the ice cream is excellent and so are the big bags of frozen fruit, which I eat without thawing it first--the only way to eat frozen fruit, as far as I'm concerned.

16. Yes. There are some things we regularly buy. |
|
Been pleased with almost everything. The ones I won't get again are more of a cost/benefits decision than actual dissatisfaction.

I'm going to give Schwan's a try. The only thing that I'm a little apprehensive about is getting stuck with a pushy salesman.
The food is expensive, but it's less expensive than eating restaurant food 5 days a week, which is what Mr. Lake and I end up doing, when we get home in the evening. I'm tired of all the prepared food at the supermarket.

I got the benefit of having their tasty, tasty noms without having to pay! Even if you have to pay I'd say highly recommended. Especially the ice cream.

The ice cream was delicious. I know she was also fond of getting the frozen fruit. Oh and they had these fruit taquito type things too which were an awesome dessert. I can't remember what else she got, but the man came every other Tuesday to our house forever.
