If you've had your gallbladder out, what was your recovery like? |
|
I had mine out yesterday. Sore, bloated, and overall feeling yucky. I am eating a little.

1. The first week was a little (more than) painful. After that I felt really good. |
|
The trick is to keep moving. If you remain still, you will get horrible pains all the way up to your shoulders from post-surgery gasses. Hold that pillow when you cough to your stomach. I ended up with a herniated surgical site, and that was not fun.
Feel better soon.

4. My son had his out a couple of years ago. |
|
He had about three days of pain and vicodin. After that, he recovered quickly.
He was crabby. Otherwise, he is never crabby. I know, because I tried to help him. I went to clean his house. I wanted to bring some food, but he did not let me. I cleaned his fricking house anyway, and left him to rest as soon as possible. I did understand what he was going through. He was crabby to his sister when she tried to do some things for him, too. He called both of us later and tried to apologize, but it was not necessary. If you can't be crabby with your family when you are hurting, your family is not much of a family.

but I was in so much pain before - I had a gall stone the size of what felt like a softball (ok so it was smaller but it felt bigger) pressing on my spine so I was in excruciating pain for months. The surgery and recovery after was sweet relief
feel better soon - and yes... keep moving (even when you want to curl up and sleep all day)

6. In less than a week I was back on the streets. |
|
I felt a bit sore and tired. Took naps and Advil.
Just keep an eye on your temperature.
