Poll question: No, I don't want to attend your "holiday bazaar" fundraiser |
|
I hate Facebook. Let me count the ways.
Facebook is one long experience with those who "friend" in order to push their own social or financial agenda on others. I got a message from a woman I've met twice this morning. She and I have never socialized, aside from belonging to the same booster club for a pro football team for less than a year.
She sells something called "Scentsy". It's evidently some candle replacement item. I'm not interested.
She invited me to a "party" last summer at which one could purchase the above items. I politely declined, and explained once more that I really wasn't interested. She's now invited me to a "holiday bazaar" next weekend.
If the person in question actually had a cup of coffee with me, we chatted on the phone, I saw her socially, I could understand the invite. What kind of clueless freak invites a virtual stranger to their house because they think they're going to profit from it financially?
C'mon, Lounge. What would you do, besides "unfriending" her and dealing with the consequences?

1. my worst "party" invite |
|
was from a distant relative by marriage after we moved here to the ranch. It turned out to be a scam for christian action figures and other crappy, made-in-china, all plastic toys for the kids. Prices were insane. I am an athiest. It was awkward.
As for facebook - I still don't get the point of it, and yet I managed to get in a bunch of trouble here because of it. BLEH!

2. I've had enough of Facebook |
|
There are people there I really enjoy, but I do not enjoy wading through those who want to initiate contact after 30 years when I chose to not have contact with them in the first place.
I'm sorry about the "christian action figures". OMG. Why do people think stuff like this is appropriate?
