2. My favorite breed!!

I love Basset Hounds!

I always tell my wife, "There is a Basset Hound in our future."

I had a roommate who had a Basset -- I pretty much raised him from a pup. His name was "Burrito" and we used to dog sit when my friend went out of town. Here is my daughter Leah with Burrito:



Sadly, Burrito is no longer with us...

3. I'm In Love

My girl, basset entered Rainbow Bridge decades ago but there isn't a day I don't think or talk about her. They make a lasting impression on your hearts and you can't look at a meat bone or doggie treat without thinking of them(this of course holds true for ANY doggie)Never had a cat but I know it's the same kind of feeling. Thanks for sharing these adorable pics. My regret is I never took enough pics of my baby girl.

I've never had a sweeter, more gentle dog. They also have JUST enough orneriness in them to be a bushel of fun!

I always told my wife that when we get our Basset, his name will be "Flash"!

Bassets are not known for their speed, so I figured "Flash" would be perfect...you beat me to it!!

25. Here are my old roommates' Bassets when they were pups...

I loved them both and miss them very much.

Burrito is the big hound on the left, Siesta is the sweet little girl on the right. These two didn't have a mean bone in their bodies, and loved everyone. I used to take them to the dog park, and they were dog park favorites -- everyone knew them!
