Even if you don't feel like you are...
I'm so proud of you!
Just think...you'll never have to go through this awful withdrawal again...EVER.

I can remember rushing out to the patio, ripping off my patch, and lighting up. Tasted like crap. After about 48 hours your taste buds notice how yucky those coffin nails actually taste. You are well on the way to a fabulous cruise for you and the little bride. You must have $10.00 in the save jar?

. . . I know it's still a MONUMENTAL struggle... but it does start getting a little-LEETLE bit easier from here on -- although you have to watch those sudden flare-ups (so to speak). . Again, BIG motivator is that you don't want to ever go through this again. I know... it took me twice to quit -- about 15 years apart. . I've tried ALMOST everything that crossed my path -- and I just (luckily) don't seem to have an addictive personality. . Except for cigarettes. They had me firmly and insistently by the scrotum... no DOUBT. . (If Skittles didn't already know, she'd be scheduling me for an ass-kicking for making her wonder why someone named "Mom" was talking about "her" scrotum.) . . . . Someone said before, "Don't EVER think... "I can just have ONE." Believe that. DON'T!!! . I think it's AA that says it... and it fits here - "One is too many... a thousand isn't enough." . . . You SHOULD be socking away your daily tobacco money in a clear jar where you can plainly SEE it every day -- that'll be another motivator... maybe even keep a tally of how many fivers you've thrown in with levels of purchasing power -- iPhone, 32" LCD Flatscreen, Caribbean cruise, down payment on a new car. . . . And part of me likes BurtWorm's suggestion about the plastic straw -- so MUCH of our addiction is the ritual, the moves... and part of me really hates it because it could stretch out your bad BAD time with its reminder of what once was the so-called "good" part of the addiction. . . . Again, you have a lot of people pulling for you and a lot of people believing in you -- let that get you through any fleeting self-doubt you might find. . . . These folks are proud of you. They're impressed with your strength and your resolve. . . . You should be, too. . . . I AM somebody!!! I CAN do this!!! . . .

13. Go for a walk sometime today/nite/tomorrow to kinda celebrate.. |
|
this step as a nonsmoking person out and about and to feel like what it's about even away from home and work.
In a way, for the next week or so, you will be playing the most important role of your life...but before you know it...it won't be just a put on...it will be totally real and to infinity.

Physical nicotine should be out... behavior modification will be challenged, given the news cycle.
But, as a respiratory therapist, I salute you. Just in case you did this "cold turkey", know that it is not statistically significant than other methods in its success.
Plus, things taste better.
