What's with the Flames and Oliers this year? |
|
Why are they sucking? Does it have to do with the water supply in Alberta or something?

1. Because they're both horribly-run teams with no money in goddawful locations. |

It's the trifecta really.
1.) If you stink but you're well-run, you'll develop prospects and get to be very good. 2.) If you stink but you've got a lot of money you can buy your way out of the shitter. 3.) If you stink but you're in a really cool city with a lot of hockey history, players will want to play for you anyways so you'll get better.
If you stink, you're badly-run, you've got no history or money and your town sucks...you'll be bad until the day the league decides to pull the plug and relocate your team to a viable market under a new ownership group.

The arena is 50 miles away from me and I don't have a car. I could take a bus but it would be a serious pain in the ass, plus I would have to avoid night games. If I lived closer I would go.
