And it'll most likely drop some more as the night goes on...
It's a bit windy too, but only 5 mph...
It's raining a bit too, I meant to say.
I like winter, but then it doesn't snow here...
I'm sorry, my dear Archae...

I had a gas fireplace and it didn't really heat up the room.
Now I have a wood burning one and it's great. My cats love it.

|
Honestly I don't mind the snow right now. We've got less then 6 inches accumulated thus far and it's actually looking pretty in time for Christmas. :-)
BUT a month or 2 from today, when temps are running 20 below, and snow so deep it's hard to see out the windows or find room to deposit it all after plowing... well then I'll be singing a different tune.

Supposed to be like this for a couple days, and then get back to normal, seasonal temperatures. We would expect something more like mid-30's for highs and mid 20's for low. We're a little cooler than normal the past couple weeks. GAC

37. Supposed to get to 20 tonight, near-costal SC. I like it, 'cept for the feral cats with no shelter. |
|
And all the other animals who are out in the elements.
Squirrels disappear in the winter but then they're back. The birds seem to know what to do. Bears got it right. But the poor little feral cats. Especially those born this year when it was warm and sunny and only know chasing butterflies. I wish I could take them all inside.
Stay safe, little kittles.

42. I worry about the strays, too - dogs, cats, etc. I asked my sister once |
|
(she's a vet) about cats in severe winter states like Maine, Vermont, Minnesota, etc. -- essentially, if the cat (or dog) can get out of the wind, they'll be OK. Find a dry ditch or hole in a tree or some such with wind shelter and curl up - the only issue is food, as it ever was and will be. Mice have a right to live, as do moles and etc.; if for no other reason than to eat bugs and become food for cats.

In Orlando the past week has been chilly compared to what we're used to.. it even got to about 27 with the wind chill the other night! Hoping to get some precipitation for some snow closer to christmas!!!! Last year we had a hail storm that had some relatively large pieces of hail (but since people down here are not used to it; called it sleet) It's seeming like it will be a relatively chilly winter for all!! YEAH!
