Proof God hates me - Asparagus |
|
Seriously, I don't like that many vegetables but Asparagus is something I would eat tons of it morning, noon and night. I love eating them like french fries. Yummy.
Except when I eat them I stink. I'm one of those folks who has a genetic trait that creates an awful smell soon after I eat Asparagus. Something like 25% of the country has this trait.
So now I can't eat one of the few vegetables I love. Why is God so cruel

1. I never let that stop me. |
|
I think I may have that trait, although it's only my piss that stinks, as far as I can tell. What keeps me from eating one of my most favorite vegetables is the fact that it usually runs four bucks a pound. The only thing I love more than asparagus is artichokes, and they're even more expensive. If I had my old job back, I could afford to eat both on a regular basis, at least when they're in season. Why is God so cruel?

4. I live on a wooded lot. |
|
Can't grow much of anything in the vegetable department. Otherwise, for sure! The funny thing is, I live in what was the late 19th-early 20th century "Asparagus Capital of the US." One of them, anyway. They used to grow it here, in part, for the iodine that the asparagus would pull from the soil. There is a TV station in Columbia, WIS, which originally stood for "Wonderful Iodine State." Wish the farmers here would go back to growing it.

And God said, "I dunno. There's just something about LynneSin that pisses me off."
So, there you have it.

12. It's just an overpowering smell that makes you self conscious |
|
I have no clue if others can smell it - I guess only if they have the gene to recognize the smell.

13. Its winter, everybody's stopped up-no one can smell much of anything! |
|
Asparagus is WAY too good to give up because of the delicate sensibilities of a few.
Just let Skittles to kick their asses?
