Wisconsin woman bites off husband's tongue while kissing him.
A Sheboygan woman accused of biting off her husband's tongue while kissing him was charged Tuesday with felony mayhem and ordered to undergo a mental evaluation. Karen Lueders, 57, of 2833 Windepoint Court, severed half of Willard Lueders' tongue during a "manic" episode about 11 p.m. Monday, authorities said. She now faces a rarely used felony — related to intentional disfigurement or mutilation — that carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.

According to authorities: A criminal complaint said Karen Lueders was "still carrying a New Year's horn in her hand and singing Christmas carols" outside her house as the first police officers arrived on scene. They had been summoned by a 911 call from her husband, Willard Lueders. As officers asked what kind of help was needed, Karen Lueders blew the horn in an officer's ear. She also threw a coffee cup at police.

In a later written statement, Willard Lueders said the incident began when he went into the bathroom while his wife was on the toilet. When he leaned over to kiss her, she went into a "manic state," grabbing his genitals and biting off his tongue. According to Willard Lueders, his wife had been behaving oddly in the preceding days, speaking very fast and talking about spiritual things.

5. If I walked in on my wife on the toilet I'd get whomped, let alone if I
tried to kiss her. I'd never even get close enough for tongue biting.

Sad story - sounds like this woman deserves the psychiatric care far more than the felony charge...

6. I think it is deeply sexist to say every violent woman suffers from mental illness
From the baby-in-a-toilet types to Lorena Bobbit to the Astronut-in-a-diaper, every time a woman commits a violent crime people make excuses and say she need psychiatry, not punishment. Well, this time it seems that she really is having a manic episode and I hope she gets help.

Or she just could be drunk. This is Wisconsin, no?

7. If men wear diapers to drive cross country to murder a rival that's not mental?
You know, your argument would make sense if it was just regular violence like beating up on a man or throwing something at him or stabbing him. But the women you cite are kind of extreme don't you think?

8. I'm surprised that he was able to be understood on the 911 call.
It had to be nearly impossible to speak at that point.

That's terrible.

10. Never kiss a woman when she's using the toilet
That's an unwritten man rule. Now you know why.

14. The tongue is a very very strong muscle
that takes some serious chewing to work thru it. I can't imagine the guy could just push her off and say 'NO!' once he started tasting blood or feeling pain.

15. help needed...
by far!!! With the Husband stating she had been acting oddly a few days prior to the incident, and reciting spiritual things. I hope that the woman can get help, but sometimes the system simply likes to throw people wayside that really do need help! I hope in this case that the system does what is best and has someone do a psych eval!
