At 62, this was better than sex!
My furnace is kaput. The house (105 years old) is awfully cold. I'm burning $100-dollar bills in the gas log fireplace (or might as well be!). I have some tower-type electric ceramic heaters positioned strategically. One is in my favorite bathroom, the bathroom with the Toto toilet.

So I go in this morning and sit down. JEEZUS! The seat was about 105-degrees F. What a great feel! I could have sat there all day. At my age, it was much better than sex!

1. LoL
I am in a similar situation. I have to plan my "sitting" by moving a small electric/ceramic deal in there an hour beforehand :D

2. Ah, the little things in life
I remember hearing about self-heating toilet seats, I gather there is a market for them.

Nothing worse than a freezing ass first thing in the morning :wow:

I don't know if you have Tractor Supply Co where you are but they have a great price on these gas heaters. Has a thermostat and blower, 30,000 btu for around $200. I bet it would beat the hell out of that gas log. My old house doesn't have central heat and the old heaters were kaput, this thing does damn near the whole house by itself. Runs on propane or natural gas.

9. I guarantee it would do the trick
My house is about 850 sq ft. I've got it centrally located and there are just a couple of the far corners where I notice it's a little cold, can use the mini ceramic heaters to supplement there.

I really envy you getting to spend time out in the middle of the wilderness like that. Ah, the solitude :)

12. We have 2 small ceramic electric heaters, and a wood pellet stove...
I'm sitting here in a tee shirt, and it's around 25 degrees outside with the wind...

Nice.

13. Warm buns!
Edited on Thu Dec-09-10 05:21 PM by marzipanni
Steamed buns...I was attending a hospital-based nursing school in Vermont years ago when there was a problem with the boiler - it sent hot water into the cold water supply pipes.
That morning in the dormitory I was greeted by a comforting steamy warmth rising against my underpinnings as I sat on the toilet, and hot-water-only when trying to wash my hands. I asked someone what could be the cause, and was told that they had just discovered the problem with the boiler after receiving reports from some of my fellow nursing students who had scalded their feet stepping into the shower.
