You play with four cards of one number for each player. You shuffle that deck. The dealer says pass 2 cards or pass 1 card or pass your whole hand in order to get 4 cards of one kind in his/her hand. Once you have four of a kind you have to give a prearranged signal to your partner so that you both call out "Charlie" at the same time. The other teams meanwhile are watching everybody to make sure no signals are being sent. If they catch you signaling your partner they can call out "Charlie" on you. Then they win. You do all sorts of fake moves, ticks, signals to try and psych the other players out.
