My niece is having an appendectomy tonight. |
|
I am an atheist, but thoughts from anyone who has had experience with appendix removal would be nice. She is going to law school and is many states away now.

1. Healing vibes to your niece... |
|
I had an appendectomy many, many years ago, it was a tad painful it was done the old fashion way. However my understanding is now they can do it laparoscopically. I had my gallbladder out and a hysterectomy through a lap, went home the same day with both. Was feeling good after a week. Matter of fact my hysterectomy was done with this new fancy robot thingy called the DaVinci-I think that's what it was called.
Good luck to your niece.

Distance is hard at times like this. Keep the good thoughts and don't forget to breathe. Peace, Kim

I think the distance is what makes it hard. Thanks for your thoughts.

Love and hugs to your niece! I have no experience with these, but my understanding is that unless it has burst, the surgery is routine in its scope, and recovery is no problem...
Still, any surgery is scary, especially when you can't be there to see it with your own eyes...

Your thoughts are much appreciated, as much as those nice pictures of the sunset you post.

If it is of any comfort, Matt Cassel had an appendectomy this week too. He's still scheduled to start at quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.

12. Thanks everybody, she is doing much better. |

She is in recovery at the hospital. They may release her tomorrow. She is having a lot of discomfort, but apparently they gave her some "strong shit" and she is able to sleep now, after having a small meal.
