Why when Banksters were robbing people blind, they ended up going after Martha Stewart and even put her in jail for not saying some information to the cops?
It was an homage to the movie Fight Club, where some person did it for something to brag to associates about. Because of the comment in that movie about her.
That is why they went after her so hard.

so, she obviously deserves getting the book thrown at her. Most of the bankers are Republics, so anything bad they did is somebody else's fault.

She made a smart, tough business decision. She was CEO and responsible for her company and all her employees. To stand and fight charges in a trial by jury would be ruinous to her company and the livelihood of her employees. Instead, innocent or guilty, she chose to do the time and get it behind her and avoided negative publicity for her company. She did her time with distinction; her fellow inmates loved her selflessness. Today her gutsy leadership leaves many with their jobs and the company still successful. My hat's off to her!
